Salary Range $42,000 - $80,000
Statement of Job:
Understands, maintains, upgrades, manages and documents the hardware, software, databases, and network for the Butler County Engineer's Office.
Accountability:
Reports to the IT Manager.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in IT, and/or network certifications are preferred a willingness to learn and adapt is required. Experience with Windows Server, VMWare, SQL Server Management, Cisco switches, Workstation support is needed, experience with Linux (Ubuntu) is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Incumbent must be able to physically access, work, repair and operate all of the BCEO equipment including lifting and moving as needed. The position may require sitting and/or standing at a desk or workstation extended periods of time.
Essential Functions:
Must meet the physical requirements and be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
Must be able to communicate well and work well with others and cooperate with residents of Butler County, Developers and their employees, contractors and their employees, vendors, customers and other employees of Butler County.
Must be self-motivated, exercise good time management and effectively document processes, procedures, configurations, equipment lists and all other activities relating to maintaining the BCEO network.
Must be adept at Microsoft Server configuration and support for both physical servers, SAN, and virtual servers.
Must be able to understand, service, maintain and configure Cisco switches.
Must either be able to configure and maintain Ubuntu servers or have a desire and ability to learn.
Must be able to configure, maintain and update SQL Server, Postgress Server, understand and maintain Web Server and Proxy Server.
Skills and Knowledge:
Advanced understanding and capabilities in performing all areas of Network Administration based on the essential functions mentioned above.
Communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
Thorough documentation of all aspects of Network Administration.
Knowledge of Windows workstations and able to offer level 2 support for Microsoft Office, Email and other commonly used software packages.
