CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR ASSISTANT CO-OP

Construction Management Program

We have 1 or 2 positions available for this.

This job includes assisting in the oversight of Federal, State and Local funded projects in order to assure that proper construction practices are followed and that plans and specifications are adhered to, for ensuring the future integrity of our infrastructure by identifying potential problems and offering solutions during construction. These construction and maintenance projects are typically located on State, County or Township roadway systems and include, but are not limited to, roadway improvements, culvert and bridge replacements and in-service inspections, private developments (subdivision), channel stabilization, roadway slips, and retaining walls. Duties shall include inspecting, overseeing, directing, generating reports, conducting punch lists, calculating quantities, reviewing estimates, and coordinating work with contractors and property owners. The incumbent shall monitor material testing and sampling, including, but not limited to concrete cylinders, air tests, slump tests and soil compaction tests.
